Preetish Nijhawan

Preetish Nijhawan is a co-founder and partner at Cervin Ventures. He has worked in numerous companies including McKinsey & Company, Neon, BMC, and iVita, an asset management software startup he co-founded. Preetish was also a co-founder of Akamai Technologies, after various roles at Intel in engineering and program management.

Preetish earned a BS in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the BITS, Pilani, India, an MS in Computer Engineering from USC, and an MBA from MIT Sloan.

Neeraj Gupta

Neeraj Gupta is a co-founder and partner at Cervin Ventures. Most recently, Neeraj was a member of the executive team at Patni, after its acquisition of Cymbal Corporation that he founded. Previously, he held numerous engineering and product management positions at Octel and Genesys.

Neeraj has a BS in Electronics and Electrical Engineering from Punjab University, and an MSEE from the University of Alabama. He is a Kauffman fellow.

Tanguy Chau, PhD

Tanguy is a venture partner at Cervin Ventures. Prior to Cervin, Tanguy was a venture investor at Formation 8 and Mayfield where he focused on enterprise and frontier technology investments. Before that, Tanguy founded Sample6, a software company focused on the detection of food borne pathogens (acquired by IEH), and Novophage Therapeutics, a biotech company combating antibiotic-resistant infections. Tanguy also worked at McKinsey & Company in the technology and healthcare practice.

Tanguy holds an Engineering Ph.D. and an M.B.A. from MIT where he served on the MIT Board of Trustees. He completed his undergraduate studies at UC Berkeley where he was a University Medal Finalist. Previously, Tanguy also competed at the International Chemistry Olympiads, and as a member of the Belgian national sailing team.

Cathy Tie

Cathy Tie is a partner at Cervin Ventures. Cathy was recently the CEO and co-founder at Ranomics, a venture backed genomics company that created a first-of-its-kind knowledge base of gene function information that enabled clinicians to understand the biological consequences of genetic variants. Cathy also led the launch of VariantFindTM, a gene variant synthesis platform that enables antibody optimization, drug target validation, and enzyme, protein and organism engineering.

Cathy founded Ranomics at the age of 18, and was named a Thiel Fellow in 2015 and Forbes 30 under 30 in 2018.

Courtney McKee

Courtney McKee joined the Cervin team with over 12 years of operations management and back office experience in mutual funds, hedge funds, private equity and venture capital to fund administration.

Courtney is a Certified Public Accountant and graduated from the University of California, Davis and Santa Clara University. She currently serves as a Treasurer on the Board of Directors for the San Francisco Chapter of the American Marketing Association.

Kim Lyell

Kim Lyell is originally from South Africa and has an extensive background in office management, PR and marketing, mainly within the travel and tourism industry. With a degree in journalism, Kim specializes in environmental travel journalism and has lived and worked in several different countries, bringing an international perspective to the group. As office manager, she oversees the firm's daily operations.
