Ampool Acquired by Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE)

Cervin portfolio company Ampool has been acquired by Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE).

Ampool’s team and products will be extending the high-performance analytics capabilities of HPE’s flagship Ezmeral software platform, playing a pivotal role in accelerating Ezmeral’s analytics runtime for interactive SQL workloads, helping to improve quality, repeatability, throughput, and time to value for customers’ AI/ML, analytics and data-intensive workloads.

Ampool has developed a data platform designed to deliver a cloud-native, high-performance SQL analytics engine for data engineers and business analysts.

Ampool and Cervin Ventures

Cervin Ventures was the lead seed investor in Ampool and supported the company through its funding rounds. The huge increase in the amount of data distributed across multiple locations including data-centers and public clouds requires enterprises to build new reference architectures. Ampool’s high-performance solution allows large enterprises to ensure data availability for applications and analytics without moving the data. This reduces the complexity of the data infrastructure and delivers a strong ROI.

Cervin’s investment case in Ampool was driven by our investment thesis around the evolution of the data infrastructure tech stack. There was no better person than Milind Bhandarkar, who has previously built large-scale high-performance distributed systems for leading companies such as Yahoo!, LinkedIn, and GreenPlum.

Congratulations to Milind and the Ampool team for building a great platform and achieving an exit to HPE.
